I thought this was a very interesting book. It talked about the different rappers. One of the things I remembered about this book was it mentioned that Mahammad Ali was L. L. Kool J's grandfather. I found that pretty amazing. The other thing is the comparison of rap back then to what rap is today. It was really a great book if your like rappers. I finished reading it in about an hour and a half.

This sounds like a book we need at Molina. The teachers are always assigning reports on music, especially the band and orchestra teachers and some of the English teachers.
ReplyDeleteThat does sound like an interesting book! I didn't know that Muhammad Ali was LL Cool J's grandfather! I would imagine lots of middle and high school students would love to read this book!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good book. The difference between rap back then and now would be an interesting discussion topic for young adults.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Johnnie about the comparison of back then and now being a good discussion point for students. I'm sure the lyrics were much tamer in the beginning even though we may have thought they were a bit rough at the time.
ReplyDeleteThis one's going on my order list for next year. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a very interesting book! Since high schoolers love to learn about music, I am going to order it for the White Library.
